Can we have the Workspace Inspector open in a place that makes sense? Like the top left corner of the screen where it belongs? And can it actually save its window position?
We always have to drag the workspace inspector to the top and side of the screen, it never saves in position and always opens at the bottom of the screen - it’s been happening for many years.
It is no different in VDMX6 now - the exact same behavior occurs, meaning every single time we go to use VDMX, first necessary action is to open WI and drag it to the correct position… sorry but this is pretty uncool considering how critical it is to interact with the WI window any time anyone needs to use VDMX.
I’ll put it down as a feature request, but it should open and close / launch into the last position it was placed in. This is so users can put it where they want within their interface / layout and CMD+1 to make it appear and disappear.
If you put yours in the upper lefthand corner and save your project, does it remain there?
Yes thanks - what I was trying to describe is that every time I open vdmx I still have to drag the window into the corner - even if I saved & left the project with the window in the top left.
This was happening for so long in 5, I had to do this op for years on various projects - dragging the window into place every AM on main & backup systems, until I just had to explain to team mates to just ignore the placement and leave it in the random place it loads.
It seems like from your reply that I may be the only person experiencing this issue where it opens in the wrong place?
Now that I am trying to use 6, I was really surprised & disappointed to see this is still a factor along with general window inconsistencies with not coming to the foreground, appearing on other displays, sizing, and so on. It seems that the overall UI - not being versioned forward with VDMX6, has all the same issues.
Thanks again - VDMX is the ultimate “DVW” & creative tool so it’s frustrating to always encounter a UI issue so unpolished.
