Visual and performed art history

Talking to contemporary history?; I miss RES magazine as an archive that used to actually make media art seem cool. But Millenium Film Jornal still hits on cine installations from time to time.

outside of theater/opera possibly being the beginning of the history of alternate use of projected light, would Fluxus kinda start the more intimate smaller DIY pieces?

The Fluxus Performance Workbook is probably the document with the biggest influence on me as an artist.

It isn’t quite something from the visual side of things, but the other night the “Orchestra hit” (and other related audio samples that have been re-used over and over again) came up in conversation, and it seemed like a noteworthy related bit of knowledge for our field.

And another classic example of this is the “Wilhelm Scream”
