Video switcher for 6 Projectors swapped between 4 computers

I’m thinking about a show for a group of video artists; we all use different platforms, Mac, windows, linux. Any suggestions for a video switcher device that all projectors could be plugged into, and different computers could divvy up their signals to the different projectors simultaneously, as well as remove a computer part way into the show and let the other computers run the whole show?

Essentially a device where the projectors stay plugged in but the computers could share the projectors and also be swapped out?

Like three keyboardists sharing a piano, where the piano is up to 6 projectors, and up to 3 or 4 people could be playing simultaneously. (perhaps a drum kit is a better analogy, many drums, and at least one drummer but several possible.)

I think I’m looking for a video switcher, but I could be wrong, is there another type of device that would satisfy the requirements. -I’m just ideating right now for an event, so the numbers are flexible, but I’m currently imagining up to 8 projectors.

If there’s a YouTube channel that talks about this sort of thing please also share a link. Thanks,
-Enki

Hi Enki, check out the Datapath FX4: https://www.datapathltd.com/datapath-products/video-wall-controllers/datapath-fx4/
Roland makes a V4 or V8 mixer: (think multicam live concert mixing)

This inputs into VDMX nicely with Blackmagic Ultrastudio:

I think you’ll need to dedicate one machine to be the control unit for this concept. You can also explore how many syphon inputs VDMX can handle. My guess is someone else on here would know or might have other ideas of how to achieve what you’re proposing.

NDI? You would probably need one primary to redirect the streams as well as as the networking stuff.
