Video change with audio reactivity

Hi there!

I’m starting to learn VDMX for my video art and visual projects.

I’m trying to figure out if there’s a way to make videos change based on audio reactivity. For example, I have 10 videos in my media bin, can I make them change in live based on the frequencies of an audio input? Is there a way? I know about the audio analysis module but I’m not sure if it’s possible to make the video change live, as if it were a live edit. I hope I’ve explained myself clearly. I’m attaching a reference to clarify the type of work I’d like to achieve.

Thank u all

Hi.

There are actually a few ways to do this. You could have the audio analysis (AA) with custom thresholds trigger different buttons in a media bin directly, or toggle different buttons such as previous, next, or random (to randomly trigger clips), or you could have it trigger different points in the cue list plugin, or even different times in a step sequencer.

Sometimes for efficiency, people will stack multiple video layers that all run simultaneously, and use AA to manipulate the opacities between those layers.

It’s pretty open as far as customizability goes.

There’s some tutorials floating around on the VIDVOX website, and also on YouTube
