VDMX Beta 9.9.2.2 now ready for testing! (M1/Intel) OSX 10.15+

A minor update for everyone 10.15+ (If you have an older OS you can try this version, but let us know if it doesn’t work for you. This version should support 10.13 & 10.14).

If you are using 10.14 and older, you’ll want to use the legacy version fo VDMX b8.7.2.4
More details about VDMX versions in the wiki doc: https://docs.vidvox.net/vdmx_versions.html

b9.9.2.2 list of improvements:

  • VDMX5 prefs refactor / reskin
  • Added undo / redo to Workspace Inspector (presets / layers / plugins)
  • Fix drawing in step sequencer (regression in b9.9.2.0)
  • Fixed potential crash when updating presets / saving projects (regression in b9.9.2.0)
  • Other minor stability fixes

Wow, Undo feels really nice and I hope it gets broader and broader! Thanks for that. No more accidentally losing an entire layer due to a misplaced mouse click.

Hi! Apologies if I’m doing something dumb here - I’ve downloaded VDMX b0.9.9.2.2 as I want to evaluate it to potentially buy for a project. This was a clean install, but it crashes on both of my Macbook Pros:

  • 15" 2018 Intel, macOS Sonoma 14.4
  • 14" 2021 M1 Pro, macOS Sonoma 14.4.1 (running in rosetta mode)

Both mention this in the crash reports:
t= 0.5442s VuoGlContext.cc:597 VuoGlContext_create() Created OpenGL context 0x7f9464120800 (shared with 0x7f94640ce000) on ATI Radeon HD 7xxx(null)
t= 1.5070s VuoLog.cc:70 VuoTerminateHandler() Terminating due to uncaught exception of unknown type

I have the full crash reports for both if that’d help.

Cheers,
Alex

Hi @hexial

We think we found the issue with 9.9.2.2 crashing, for the time being, could you try downgrading to 9.9.2.0?

Hi @ProjectileObjects
Thanks for the speedy reply :) I can confirm 9.9.2.0 works on macOS 14.4 :tada:
