Safari pip capture in VDMX doesn’t work the same as before in macOS 26…

I just test-installed it on a spare system here (Macbook Air 13” M4), and I noticed that Filevault is now turned on by the upgrade process. I’m not sure if that encrypts ALL files on the disk, or just those in the user folder. And I don’t know if the decryption costs a lot in terms of CPU. But it is probably something to pay attention to when upgrading. (I turned it off, that was instant.)

I got a proper bunch of “permission requests” when opening VDMX for the first time, to access camera, microphone, disks, files, etc it somehow felt like more than the usual. But after accepting them all, it ran fine. I just tested a simple NDI project, ran fine for hours. Didn’t test anything complex.

So basically it seems fine. Though I probably won’t update any of the serious production systems to macOS 26 until I absolutely have to, or when upgrading to a new system that comes with it preinstalled.

Any general guides on what to turn off and set in macOS 26 to get it running smooth as possible.

No official ones so far. It VDMX6 not running smoothly on your machine, if so send in a bug report.

The only small issue I find now is that if you got other apps ” windows ” open and vdmx don’t have focus the interface kind of stutter. Output is still fine though. Never seen this before so was thinking if it has something to do with all active corners , stage stuff etc. Currently shutting down all liquid tiling and other unusefull features.
