urgent help please - mac studio M3 Tahoe driving 4 projectors

I initially tested with 2 projectors just fine, but now with 4 projectors, I am having an issue.

All projectors are on and connected via hdmi/usb-c adapter to thunderbolt-c ports. I can see all projectors in the the Control Centre status menu in the menu bar but only those projectors that are configured as extended display will show up in DISPLAYS in Systems Centre.

Firstly, the Mac won’t show a projector as a display unless you use the ‘Extended Display’ option. So after 2 projectors are showing up in displays, I select a third one as ‘Extended Display’ and it takes over my desktop moving it to a projector which I don’t want.

Using CMD +F in VDMX doesn’t show all projectors, only those with extended display configured. Does anyone know how to overcome this?

Thanks

Could you share some screenshots of what you are looking at?

VDMX sees the outputs the way your computer does. What does the arrangement and config look like in the Apple > Preferences > Displays?

Thank you for your reply. I was able to get all the displays visible eventually.

I discovered that projectors will not show up as displays in system settings until you assign them as ‘Extended Desktop’. You can assign them this by going to Command Centre and then Screen Mirroring → Extended Desktop.

The issue is that when you do this, the projections were taking over my desktop. I’m still not sure why, but once I was able to navigate to the projection screen, go to System settings and then Displays, click on your display and you will see that it has been assigned as extended desktop to one of the projectors! You can reassign it to be Primary, then you have control back to your primary monitor.
