I’m doing local VJing in Portland, OR, here’s my controller setup and a screenshot of my layout! I write a lot of my own FX shaders and cut a lot of custom clips as well
And I run 2 copies of ProjectMilkSyphon so I can test and crossfade during a show. I do a lot of improvisation when performing so this makes it a lot of fun!
A bit of a mess, but I’m taking the opportunity to announce this being the final experimental version of a setup I’ve working on for over a year. The next version won’t be experimental, and it will sport a A&H Xone: PX5 DJ mixer that I’ve just ordered. It’s very, very solid. It’ll replace a lot of all the patched-together stuff so this is the last pic ever of the experiment.
What I’m doing? Glad you asked!
I’m a long time music producer & DJ, so live video adds a whole new art form to my solo performances. I’ve developed a way to play video just like I’d play an instrument on top of my DJ:ing. Not hearing of others doing this so far so I think I’m onto something unique. I’m sure there are others out there, but I’m confident in my artistic vision too - it’s unmistakably me.
So here goes to ending the experiment and hoping there’s an audience!
MIDI Fighters are really cool to play live, so I play sequence of effects.
But Open Stage Control is the main core, with it I don’t need to touch the laptop.
