ProjectMilkSyphon Feature Request

I love using ProjectMilkSyphon in my setup as a backing layer, I usually tend to sort my presets before shows to prep things that I know will match the DJs styles. I for some reason recalled ProjectMilkSyphon being open source, but when looking around the VDMX GitHub I guess I was mistaken

There’s really only two features I could request for that app since I can’t add them myself:

  1. Preview of a preset before “cueing” it, like how the pop-over previews work in VDMX6, it would be awesome to have a tiny preview of the preset show up when clicking an eye icon or something similar to see the preset being rendered with the same audio input as the currently activated one.

  2. Cutover/Cue, being able to select the “next” preset (potentially out of order from the playlist) and trigger it with keypress would be incredibly helpful as well.

I know it’s probably not a priority of yours to add feature to ProjectMilkSyphon, but I wanted to just air my wants out to the team.

Thanks!

You could also duplicate your ProjectMilkSyphon application, and load both of them at the same time and use VDMX6 as a mixer between them for that functionality.

MIDI and OSC would be a nice addition! Maybe in the future.

Not a bad idea! I’ll go that route for now.
Also +1 to MIDI and OSC, that would be incredible

Thanks!

MIDI and OSC are sorely needed here. The goal is to use external controllers for everything possible in VDMX, like dual Quneo or something.

Also, limiting the preset randomization to current playlist and/or search results would be helpful to avoid those surprise “wow this bright white preset really doesn’t work here” moments.
