Hello! So I am trying to connect my Elgato Streamdeck to trigger media clips. I cannot seem to get it connected to vdmx. I have been searching for a tutorial but am not having any luck. Can anyone assist me connecting my stream deck to trigger clips? Thank you in advance!
Hi and welcome! The streamdeck is not directly integrated with VDMX, but you can configure the Streamdeck buttons to send out OSC or MIDI commands to interact with various elements of VDMX. or execute shortcut keys.
To do so, you’d have to enable MIDI or OSC on the Stream Deck through Elgatos software or using something else like companion.
From there, the Streamdeck will operate like any other MIDI controller with VDMX.
Thank you for the reply! I think the trouble I’m having is mapping the OSC. My stream deck is registering, but I cannot get it to play a clip from the media bin. Do you know if it’s easier to use midi or OSC? And do you know how to actually trigger the clip from the stream deck and map the buttons?
I think MIDI from the streamdeck is easier (if I remember correctly), OSC will require that you enter more information for each button, whereas MIDI should just ask for a note or CC number.
