Hi,
I’m looking at buying a new mac, dedicated to doing shows.
Trying to decide what I need.
Regarding CPU, would I be better off with more CPU cores or faster clock speeds?
cheers

I’d say better watch out for the best GPU you can put into a Mac (which would inadvertently lead you to either a Mac Pro or Hackintosh because a Macbook with eGPU over Thunderbolt might be slower than what you might need - David explained this somewhere on this forum)
thanks. yeah i agree… the gpu is obviously a big focus, but i do have to make a decision on cpu at some point.
cheers.
Yeah, sorry …got a bit off topic there.
This is how it looks if I run 3 layers with lots of stuff (1 video layer + 2 ISF shaders) - the CPU is yawning and running at 1,7 GHz. The GPU is working as good as it can (with 8 GB ram fully being used). I have the cheapest CPU in the Macbook Pro 16,1" and the “best” GPU you can buy. As you can see the GPU could be better… CPU doesn’t seem to matter too much.
thanks mate. that’s good to see. cheers.
