Jpeg image - frame droping

Hello – I’m a VDMX noob and I have a question.
In VDMX, I’ve loaded video clips and images, which I trigger via a MIDI keyboard (on Layer 2).
I don’t understand why I’m getting frame drops on Layer 1 when I trigger JPEG images (only certain images – approx. 4MB each).
What do you recommend?

What’s the resolution of those JPEG images, and how much compression is being used?

The more compression, the more processing power your machine will need to decode them.

Hey.
Thanks for reply.
Demensions are: 2730 × 3698
I dont know what to tell you about the compression, - the files are approx. 4MB.
Image was captured with a smartphone.

thank you

Do you need it to be that large? (Yes, if you are zooming in, etc.)

At that resolution and file size, the estimated Uncompressed version of that image would be ~30.29MB

So it’s using an almost 8x compression. I would try converting it to an uncompressed image or a PNG and seeing if you still have the same issues. That or you could render it out as a HAP video if you really wanted, but fixing the compression should help.

Also, what are the specs of your machine?
