Anyone using Intech Grid MIDI controllers? I’ve been using a MidiFighter Twister for years after my Livid Instruments CNTRL:R went wonky. I’m thinking it might be nice to get some faders back in the mix and looking at the Intech Grid system. I’m thinking the system would be good for lots of other situations and I like the idea of it being modular.
I’ve gone for a TEK2 Mechanical (2 jog wheel, 8 buttons), PBF4 Linear Mechanical (4 x knobs, faders, buttons) and PO16 Linear (16 knobs). Use case (not all at once): VDMX, Resolume, Vuo, TouchDesigner, MIXXX, Modular, Blender (possibly).
I’ve got a set of them. What questions do you have?
The only downside is if you are on an uneven surface regularly. Otherwise, you can mount them to a board (like a pedal board) or 3D print something that makes them more secure. The magnets are strong, but if they disconnect then you’ll loose power to the unit (unless each one is plugged in via USB C).
The main thing will be how easy it is to switch profiles (mappings) I guess. Generally with VDMX I map on the fly but with other software I will need something fixed. Re the disconnect issue I can print a grid once I get used to the layout.
