How to create HAP Alpha clips with AVF Batch Converter

I was trying to convert a Quicktime Animation clip with Alpha to HAP Alpha in AVF Batch Converter, but the Animation clip refuses to import. Is this normal?

Is there any other source clip format that is recommended for converting to HAP Alpha instead of Quicktime Animation?

ProRes 4444 seems to work.

Sounds like you figured it out, but to confirm, yes, you’ll want to use ProRes 4444 as your intermediate / archival codec for working with alpha channels these days.

Apple has dropped support for the Animation codec (and a lot of other “legacy” codecs) with AVFoundation.
