Help multi video art installation with old vtr monitors and tv´s

my hardware

  • macbook pro M3
  • vtr´s with coax input or bnc input
  • rf modulator to get the signal from my macbook to the vtr´s

can i use your VDMX6 software to generate images over all vtr´s to get one picture with a number of 6-9 monitors ?

and allso get overblednings to let swipe images from one to the other ?

how can i get the signal to all this monitors ? with a simple switch or whats usefull ?

Hi Alex,

A few questions.

  1. By VTR’s I’m assuming you are talking about some sort of analog screen or TV?

  2. How many screens are you trying to control?

  3. How are you converting the digital video signal from your Macbook Pro into an analog one? Do you have a specific device you were looking at that has multiple outputs?

Maybe someone else knows what multi-output digital to analog video matrix type devices are out there?

i use analog tv´s and analog video monitors

about 9 to 18 screens

i have an hdmi / rf modulator to get the macbook signal into coax / bnc

Can you share the details about what specific hdmi / rf modulator you are using?

Does it have multiple BNC outputs or only a single one? Does it split the single HDMI resolution into multiple outputs like a video wall or video matrix?

Thank you for sharing. It looks like a single video input and output? So you can use a duplicator to clone the same RF signal and send it to more TVs at once, but if you want to control each TV, then you’ll either need an RF modulator for each TV (and multiple HDMI outputs from your mac), or some sort of video wall matrix and a number of converters.

You might be able to find someone in the circuit bending community who can tell you a DIY way, but it will take more hardware to control each screen.
