Connecting an MPC to VDMX to trigger clips

Has anyone had experience connecting a modern MPC (MPCX specifically) to VDMX to receive MIDI signal and set triggers? I’ve had pretty easy success with my OP-1 and my SP404. But for some reason when I hit the “detect” button under the triggers panel of my media bin and hit a pad on the MPC there is no MIDI signal being detected. Any help would be greatly appreciated !

Set the thing is controller-mode:

Sadly there is no MIDI over USB in standalone mode on the MPC.
You’ll have to either:

  • Use the MPCX in controller mode, and run the MPC software on your computer if you need its audio capabilities simultaneously.

  • Get a cheap USB device to get MIDI into your computer

  • Use a different controller like an APC40
