Can VMDX run on Mac OS 10.10.3?

I have a student who owns a Mid-2012 Macbook Pro 13’’. Not a very powerful machine, but we upgraded it with a brand new SSD and 16 GB of RAM which brought life back into it.

The latest VDMX release (b.8.7.1.5) will not run. Big fat X across the icon.

Now, my student tells me that she read that she can’t update it past 10.10.3 (Yosemite), which might be the issue. It doesn’t add up to what I’ve read online, so I’m getting her to try and update it… But I wanted to know if the computer will run VDMX at all.

2,5 GHz dual-core Intel Core i5-processor (Turbo Boost 3,1 GHz)
16 GB RAM (registered and working, though it’s supposed to max out at 8)
500 GB Kingston SSD
Working atm with Yosemite 10.10.3

Does anyone have any experience with this model? Or is there a way to use a legacy version of VDMX?

The last release that will run in 10.10.x is build 8.7.1.0 – send us an email or a DM and I’ll send you the download link for it!

As of 8.7.1.5, VDMX requires 10.11 or later.
