Button targets all layers instead of only one

I am totally lost here, sorry. There must be some fundamental VDMX logic that I don’t understand.

I want some buttons to control the composition mode of only layer 1 and some other buttons to control the composition mode of only layer 2. No matter what I do, the buttons control all layers instead of only the specific layer to which they are connected. Is it a Media bin related problem? If so, I don’t understand the Media bin.

I have created a control surface. On that, I have created four buttons:
In layer 1 I have connected button 1 to the composition mode 'Add‘.
In layer 1 I have connected button 2 to the composition mode Difference’.
In layer 2 I have connected button 3 to the composition mode 'Add‘.
In layer 2 I have connected button 4 to the composition mode Difference’.

However, when I click on any button they change the blending mode on both layer 1 and layer 2.

What’s wrong? How to connect a button to a specific layer?

I hope you can help,
Br, Donleavy

Thank you so much!

Try grouping your layers. Grouped layer blend modes will affect each other (for compatability). Right now, both Layer 1 and 2 are grouped under your Main Canvas Output.

If you add more layers and group them separately, they shouldn’t affect each other (I think).
