Any performance gain of VDMX6 vs VDMX5 on beefy intel mbp 2018?

Hey, just a quick question: i have a simple project that is going to run off my MBP 2018 (15inch, 6 core I7, 32 ram, Radeon Pro 560X 4 GB) and am considering if i should jump on VDMX6 for this project. Its very basic playback of just one video for s mapping installation, syphon to madmapper and two projectors…
Any one have experience on if the new one runs better on these old machines?

Thanks in advance. Lau

What version of OSX are you running, that is a more important factor to V5 vs V6 performance on an older machine.

Ah, good point and good to know.-
To keep things simple I have partitions running different OS versions:
Two oldies 10.14.8 and 10.15.7
for running the old 32 bit stuff, and for having the same OS as my trusty old hackiongtosh ( so I can have the same FCP versions and work on the same projects on the laptop etc… and that one is locked to old hardware - firewire audio, blackmagic thunderbolt 1/2 capture boxes etc…)
And the newer ones:
my primary day to day is currently still on 14.6.1, but might as well update it.
And a partition for projects/installations that right now is on 13.1 - but can be updated to taste - this one will be the one running the installation.
What OS would you recommend me running?

Best Lau

OSX 14 if fine for the current version of VDMX, but I wouldn’t go any older than that for VDMX6 1.2.1+

It’s always hard to predict performance boost with V5 to V6, it’s best to just install the demo and see for yourself.
