After a few iterations, Claude built this ISF which generates a palette overlay of whatever video source is being played. After earlier muddied and muted results, it provided a few sliders to better match the averaged/analysed colours with the key visible colours.
Adjustable height, update rate, and can be positioned on any of the 4 frame-edges.
